Sarah McGilvray

BSW, RSW, Client Services, Family Social Worker Consultant

My name is Sarah McGilvray and I graduated from Ryerson University with a Bachelor of Social Work degree in 2018. I am a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. I have experience providing support to vulnerable children, adults, and older adults, and have engaged with diverse communities.

While at Ryerson University I took a minor in Family Supports and Community Practice and learned the importance of taking various approaches to explore the needs of families and caregivers. I enjoy working closely with families to navigate relationships and provide the individual with the care they need.

I have been very grateful to work at Mosaic Home Care, an internationally recognized homecare agency which prides itself on a person-centered care model which lines up with my practice of social work. The community resource centres at Mosaic continue to support and empower individuals and families and offer resources that are accessible to the community.

My love for organized sport has had a major impact on my education, my socialization, and my career as a social worker. Sport has also provided me with many opportunities to engage with the community on various levels. This life experience has challenged me to be critical about the privilege I have to play a sport. I look forward to continuing my journey at Mosaic Home Care and growing in the field I am deeply passionate about.
